That extra 100 mm over the 700 mm model matters on beamier dinghies and small keelboats. It lets you steer from the rail while hiking or sit forward to trim without letting go of the helm.

Barton uses a 15 mm anodized aluminum tube that stays light while standing up to salt water. The foam grip is textured, so it does not slip in spray or rain. A polyurethane resin universal joint, crimped all the way around the tube, moves freely in every direction as you change position.
