Barton Marine 700mm Aluminum Soft-Grip Tiller Extension

The Barton Marine 700mm Aluminum Soft-Grip Tiller Extension is Barton part 43202, with a 0.7 m (27.6 in) tube. The universal joint adds another 40 mm, so the overall length is about 29 in from tiller to grip. That length suits smaller dinghies and boats where you sit close to the tiller and do not need to reach far across the cockpit.

The tube is 15 mm anodized aluminum, light enough that you barely notice it in your hand and resistant to corrosion in salt water. Barton's textured foam grip gives a secure hold with wet gloves or bare hands. The universal joint is engineered polyurethane resin with a full crimp around the tube, so the joint stays secure on the tube.

If you hike out hard or sail a wider boat, the 800 mm or 900 mm versions give more reach. Barton's tiller clip, part 43605, is sold separately and holds the extension against the tiller when you are not using it. You can find other helm and deck fittings in our mounting and rigging hardware.
