The Balmar 100A Saddle Mount Alternator Kit includes a 100A alternator with a conventional dual deep-V pulley, plus regulation and sensors.

The dual deep-V pulley is for boats still running twin V-belts rather than a serpentine drive. Many older engines use that arrangement, and converting to serpentine means changing the crankshaft pulley too. Matching the existing drive is usually the simpler path.

Two V-belts are what allow a 100A alternator to be driven without slipping. A single V-belt on a high-output alternator glazes and squeals under load, which is the usual first sign that an upgrade outran its belt.

The kit combines the alternator with external regulation, temperature sensing and mounting hardware. The 3.15-inch dual-foot saddle mount suits Yanmar, Westerbeke, Lehman and Perkins-Sabre installations, with isolated grounding. Explore more marine alternators.
