The Attwood LightArmor HPX is a 6-inch underwater light with 12 blue LEDs, a dedicated heat sink and reverse polarity protection.
HPX is the extreme high performance version, above the standard Light Armor line in the same range. Both are surface-mount underwater lights with 12 LEDs, and the difference is in the LED technology and output rather than the fitting or the installation.
Reverse polarity protection means a wiring mistake during installation will not destroy the light. That is worth having on a fixture mounted below the waterline, since discovering the error means hauling the boat or diving to replace it rather than swapping a part on deck.
A dedicated heat-sink design with built-in overheat protection keeps the electronics from running hot during long use. Heat is what kills underwater LEDs, and a light left on while the boat sits out of the water has no surrounding water to cool it at all. Explore more underwater lights.
