YakGear 3.3 lb Folding Grapnel Boat Anchor

The YakGear 3.3 lb Grapnel Anchor Kit holds a kayak, canoe or small boat in place. It's galvanized steel with four 6 inch tines. The kit includes 30 feet of 3/16 inch black nylon diamond braid rope and a storage ditty bag. The heavier head is especially useful in tidal creeks and rivers.

The tines fold flat for storage and lock in either the open or closed position. YakGear gives this anchor a heavy head. That weight gets it to the bottom faster in deeper or faster-moving water, so it starts holding sooner. Diamond braid rope resists kinking and is easy on the hands.

YakGear recommends a rope length of three times the water depth in calm water and four to five times in chop or wind. With 30 feet of rope, that covers calm water up to about 10 feet deep. Store the anchor in the ditty bag so wet tines don't snag other gear. Browse more boat anchors.
