Xantrex DC Battery Cables Fuse S-Kit, 4-Gauge

The Xantrex DC Battery Cable and Fuse S-Kit has pre-terminated 8-foot 4 AWG cables with a fuse block, for 600W to 800W inverters.

S is the smallest of the four kits, covering 600 to 800 watts against M, L and XL up to 3000. All four use 4 AWG cable and the same 8-foot length, so the difference between them is the fuse rating rather than the conductor.

That means the kits cannot be substituted upward: an S-kit fuse on a larger inverter would trip under normal load. Matching the kit to the inverter is what makes the protection correct rather than merely present.
