The automatic lighting mode is unique to the C12 within the C-Series, and it switches loads on darkness rather than on voltage. That suits anchor lights, deck lighting or a navigation aid, where the requirement is dusk-to-dawn operation rather than battery protection.
Twelve amps is the smallest C-Series controller, suiting a single panel or a modest array. The C35, C40 and C60 cover larger installations, and only the C40 adds 48V capability.
Charging mode uses three-stage charging with user-definable voltage settings and automatic equalization for supported lead-acid batteries.
