The Winchester Burl Wood Lockback has a 3-inch satin stainless blade, a burl wood handle with stainless bolsters, a thumb stud and a black nylon belt sheath, closing to 4.25 inches.
Burl is wood grown around a growth deformity, so the grain swirls in tight irregular figures instead of running straight. No two handles come out with the same pattern. It is cut from a section of tree that most sawmills would treat as waste, and burl handles cost more than plain wood despite coming from the same log.
