A 45 degree bend disturbs flow less than a right angle, so it is the better choice wherever the route allows the gentler turn. It is a press connection, made with a pressing tool rather than threading or brazing, so there is no open flame and no cutting threads in place. Suits Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless pipe.
