VDO Reed Switch 450MM Tank Depth Fuel Sender

Choose the VDO 450mm Reed Switch Fuel Sender when the installation calls for a 450mm sensing depth. The narrow stainless steel tube drops vertically into the fuel tank, so it does not need the wide swing path of a hinged float arm. This format is particularly relevant for deeper tanks that also have limited room around the sender opening.

As fuel shifts in a moving boat, the tubular housing helps dampen movement close to the sensing area. This can help avoid the rapid needle changes associated with a freely moving arm-type sender. The reed-switch layout also sidesteps the pivot and exposed resistance-card contact used in many older fuel senders.

An ethanol-resistant Viton gasket is part of the sender assembly. The 450mm model uses a standard SAE five-hole top flange, and a separate neoprene gasket plus mounting hardware are supplied. Check the depth beneath the mounting flange, the tank opening and gauge compatibility before installation.
