The Surefire M640DFT is a 1,000 lumen Scout light in tan anodized finish, supplied with an 18650 rechargeable battery, a Z68 tailcap and an M-LOK adapter.

A thousand lumens is double the M340's output, and the 18650 cell is what makes that possible. It is a longer battery, so the light is a longer unit, which is the trade against the compact model. On a rifle where rail space is available that is no cost at all, and the extra output and runtime are worth having.
