Description

The Stroup MK2 has a 4-inch black Cerakote 1095 high carbon steel drop point blade at 8 inches overall, a G10 handle and a sheath. Made in the USA.

Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating baked onto the steel, and it is the alternative to the acid etched finish on the rest of the Stroup range. It seals a carbon blade properly against rust where an etch only slows it. That matters on 1095, which will rust in a damp sheath if left unattended, and it is the reason to pick this version.

1095 holds about one percent carbon, taking a very keen edge and stropping back in seconds. Stroup builds in North Carolina in small batches, and the flat grind and squared spine reflect a knife made to be used rather than styled. Explore more Tactical Fixed Blade Knives.

  • Cerakote seals the carbon blade where an etch only slows rust
  • Alternative to the acid etched finish on other Stroups
  • 1095 strops back keen in seconds
  • 4-inch drop point, 8 inches overall
