The Standard Horizon 240SW is a 5 by 8 inch rectangular 4 ohm hailer and PA horn in white, rated 40 watts, for the GX2000, GX2200, GX6000S and VLH-3000A.

A hailer horn does two jobs. It projects a voice across a harbor or to another vessel far beyond shouting range, and it broadcasts the automatic fog signals a VHF with hailer function generates. The second is a legal requirement in restricted visibility, and doing it by hand with a horn is far less reliable.

Four ohms at 40 watts is what the compatible radios expect. Fitting a horn of the wrong impedance either wastes output or damages the amplifier.
