Spyderco Para 3 Canvas Micarta Folding Knife

The Spyderco Para 3 Canvas Micarta (C223MPCW) has a 2.92-inch CPM Cru-Wear blade and canvas Micarta handle scales. It is the compact version of the Para Military 2, built in Golden, Colorado. The Micarta gives it a warmer, more traditional look than the G-10 Para 3 models. Open, the knife is a little over 7 inches long.

Cru-Wear began as a tool steel for industrial cutting dies, and Crucible's powder version gives it a finer, tougher structure for knife blades. Because it carries less chromium than a stainless steel, it needs a quick wipe and a drop of oil after wet use. Over time, the blade can develop a gray patina that helps protect against rust.

Canvas Micarta is made from layers of canvas set in resin, and its grip actually improves as the surface wears in. The Compression Lock in the spine is strong and keeps fingers out of the blade's path when closing. The Round Hole allows quick one-handed opening, and the clip keeps the knife secure in a pocket.
