Spyderco Para 3 Black G10 Folding Knife

The Spyderco Para 3 Black G-10 (C223GP) is the compact version of the Para Military 2, with a blade of about 2.95 inches in CPM S45VN. It keeps the Para Military's strong Compression Lock, full flat grind, and hand-filling handle in a size that suits everyday pockets. Spyderco makes the Para 3 in its Golden, Colorado factory.

CPM S45VN followed S30V and S35VN in Crucible's lineup, adding niobium and nitrogen for better corrosion resistance and an edge that is a bit easier to sharpen. The full flat ground blade is thin behind the edge, so it slices food, cardboard, and rope cleanly. A finger choil behind the edge lets you choke up for detail work, and jimping on the spine gives your thumb a firm rest.

The black G-10 handle has a grippy texture and skeletonized liners that add strength without much weight. The Compression Lock releases from the spine, keeping your fingers clear of the edge as the blade closes. A blade under 3 inches keeps it within the length limits in many cities and states.
