Description

The Spyderco Manix 2 Blue G-10 (C101GPCBL2) puts a satin 3.37-inch CPM SPY27 drop point blade in a cobalt blue G-10 handle. SPY27 is a powder steel made by Crucible for Spyderco, and it usually appears with cobalt blue handles like this one. Overall length is 8 inches, and it is made in Golden, Colorado. The drop point blade is broad, with a long cutting edge and a strong tip.

The Ball Bearing Lock uses a caged, spring-loaded bearing to lock the blade open with a solid, smooth lockup. Pulling the bearing back toward the butt releases the blade, and you can do it with either thumb. The design is strong enough that many users treat the Manix 2 as a hard-use folder. A finger choil and jimping on the spine give a secure hold during detail cuts.

SPY27 is formulated for toughness, corrosion resistance, and a good working edge. The blue G-10 has a grippy texture, and the skeletonized liners keep the weight reasonable. The four-position clip and the large Round Hole round out a very practical design. Limited runs mean SPY27 blue models tend to sell through quickly.
