Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 Stainless Lockback Knife

The Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 Stainless Lockback (BY03P2) has a 3.75-inch clip point blade in 8Cr13MoV and a slim stainless steel handle. It is part of Spyderco's Byrd line, built in China to keep the price low. Open length is 8.5 inches, so it has plenty of reach for a full-size work knife. The clip point tip is fine and controlled, which helps with detail cuts and opening blister packs.

The stainless handle is thinner than the FRN version and wears well over the years. A lanyard slot at the butt lets you add a cord for a better grip or easier retrieval. The back lock is released by pressing the rocker bar at the spine. Steel handles also add a little heft, which some users like for a solid, balanced feel in the hand.

An oval Byrd Hole in the blade allows one-handed opening. The four-position clip suits left or right carry, tip-up or tip-down. Wipe the steel handle dry after use near salt water.
