This commercial-grade build delivers reliable VHF communication even at that reduced size.

The build layers a silver-plated shield over a copper core, chosen specifically to keep signal loss low, and the antenna's radome is hand soldered, hand assembled, and hand finished using the same foam-filled construction found throughout the Phase III line, isolating internal elements from vibration and moisture for dependable long-term performance.

A Type SO-239 connector sits inside the stainless steel mounting sleeve itself, a design detail that makes mounting and dismounting for stowage simple, useful for boats that need to lower or remove antennas for bridge clearance or trailering without fighting an awkward connector location.
