Samlex 10A 12/24V PWM Solar Charge Controller

The Samlex MSK-10A is an automatic solar charge controller for small 12V and 24V battery systems used on boats, service vehicles, portable charging kits, and off-grid equipment. Its microcontroller automatically detects the battery-system voltage and regulates incoming solar power without requiring the user to manually switch between the two nominal system voltages. Series-type PWM charging uses multiple stages to maintain the battery more carefully than a simple on/off regulator. The controller is intended for lead-acid applications and is especially useful where a compact, straightforward charging system is preferred.

The controller provides protected load terminals in addition to the charging circuit, allowing a small DC load to be managed alongside the battery. Electronic safeguards cover overheating, overcharging, over-discharge, overload, short circuit, and reverse connection between the solar module and battery. An optional external temperature sensor can be added when the controller and battery are exposed to meaningfully different temperatures. The compact housing measures about 5.46 x 2.73 x 1.46 in and weighs approximately 0.29 lb, so it fits easily into portable and small fixed systems.
