Description

The Roper Lockback Trapper has a satin 1065 carbon steel clip blade in a red jigged bone handle with stainless bolsters, an inlay shield and a pocket clip, closing to 4.13 inches.

Building a trapper as a single locking blade is a departure. The traditional pattern has clip and spey blades on a slip joint, so dropping to one locking blade trades versatility for security and a slimmer frame. A pocket clip is the other modern addition, keeping the knife high in a pocket rather than loose at the bottom.

1065 carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless and comes back faster on a stone, developing a patina that most owners of a carbon traditional leave alone. Red jigged bone gives grip where a smooth surface turns slick, and the color stands out against the ambers that fill most traditional trays. Explore more Lockback Knives.

  • Single locking clip blade rather than the traditional two
  • 1065 carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless
  • Pocket clip, uncommon on a traditional pattern
  • Red jigged bone with stainless bolsters
