Description

The Roper Lahar Trapper has satin carbon steel clip and spey blades in a black acrylic and brown wood handle with nickel silver bolsters, closing to 4.13 inches.

Setting wood into acrylic gives a handle with the grain of natural timber suspended in a colored resin, so each knife has a pattern that cannot be repeated exactly. The clip blade covers general cutting while the spey's flat edge and rounded tip suit skinning and scraping where a point would puncture.

Carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless and resharpens faster, at the cost of a patina that most owners of a carbon traditional leave alone. Each blade opens on a nail nick, held by a slip joint where spring tension stands in for a locking bar. Explore more Trapper Knives.

  • Clip and spey blades in carbon steel
  • Wood set in black acrylic, unique to each knife
  • Carbon takes a keener edge than stainless
  • Nickel silver bolsters, 4.13 inches closed
