Description

The Rite Edge Blacksmith Knife is a fixed blade, a hammered-finish 3-inch carbon steel blade with full tang construction, set in a burgundy wood handle and shipped with a leather sheath.

That hammered finish mimics the texture left behind by an actual forging hammer, giving the blade a rustic character straight off the anvil rather than a smooth, machine-polished look. Full tang construction runs the steel the entire length of the handle. Wood resists cracking and warping better than basic plastic, so the handle holds up well over years of use.

Rite Edge built this piece for buyers who want that rustic, hand-forged look at an accessible price. Explore more Camp & Field Knives. Explore more fixed blade knives.

  • Hammered finish mimics a hand-forged look
  • Burgundy wood handle brings natural grain and warping
  • Full tang construction for lasting strength
  • Ships with a leather sheath

Buyers who like the rustic, forged aesthetic of a hammered blade tend to pick this over a smoother, plain-finished alternative every time. The hammered texture runs the length of the blade rather than stopping partway, so the forged look carries through consistently from heel to tip. That consistency is part of what separates a well-executed hammered finish from one that only looks half-finished. A knife with this kind of finish tends to draw attention in a display case even next to more expensive, higher-end pieces. Wood handles like this one also tend to age well, developing a bit of character over time rather than looking worn out.

Decent Carbon Steel Blades, Handle Scales Off

Blades are okay. Love the fact that they are carbon steel. Sheaths hold fairly decently, but can be wetformed for better retention. Scales on handle of knife don't quite match up with each other on the 2 of these that I purchased. Really like the curve of the spine by the handle. Makes it easier for Filipino grip. Kind of wish these had a lanyard hole, but overall, decent blade for the price.
