Performance Metals Alpha 1 Gen II Aluminum Anode Kit

The Performance Metals Alpha 1 Gen II Complete Anode Kit has every anode and the hardware for a MerCruiser Alpha 1 Gen II outdrive. It replaces Mercury kit 888756Q 1. Doing the whole drive at once means no piece is left half-worn while the others are new.

Performance Metals makes its Navalloy aluminum anodes to military specification MIL-DTL-24779, and they work in salt, brackish and fresh water. Each one has Performance Metals' patented red spot wear indicator, which shows at a glance when it's time for a replacement. Aluminum anodes protect in salt, brackish and fresh water, and they deliver more protection per pound than zinc.

The kit includes 00041A (821629), two 00042A (806189), 00043A (806105), 00045A (821631) and 00049A (762145), with Mercury numbers in parentheses. Replace anodes when they're about half consumed, and never paint them, because paint stops them from working. Other kits and individual anodes are in our marine anodes section.
