Description

The Pacer Red/Black 8/2 AWG Flat Duplex Cable is a 100-foot length with a talcum-coated jacket extruded around the conductors.

Eight gauge duplex suits a heavy circuit where positive and negative both run the same path: a windlass, a thruster or a sub-panel feed. Where the negative returns to a bus instead, single conductor is the better buy and duplex leaves half the cable doing nothing.

The flat layout keeps two heavy conductors low against a panel or bulkhead, which a round pair of 8 AWG conductors would not manage. At this gauge that shape difference decides whether a run fits behind a panel or needs a chase built for it.

The PVC jacket is extruded around the conductors to reduce the voids where air or moisture would collect and travel. A talcum coating on the inner conductors helps the jacket strip cleanly at termination, which matters at 8 gauge where the jacket is thick enough that a deep cut reaches the insulation. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • 8 gauge duplex where both conductors run together
  • Single conductor is better if the negative goes to a bus
  • Flat keeps heavy conductors low against a panel
  • Talcum coating strips the thick jacket cleanly
