Description

The Pacer Red/Yellow 8/2 AWG Flat Safety Duplex Cable is a 100-foot length with a talcum-coated jacket extruded around the conductors.

This is the ABYC safety-coded version of the 8 gauge duplex, using yellow negative rather than black. At this gauge the circuits are heavy enough that identification is a safety question rather than a convenience, particularly where AC wiring shares the same compartments and black appears on both sides.

The extruded jacket reduces the voids where air or moisture could accumulate inside the cable. That construction matters more on a cable likely to be terminated in a bilge or engine space, where moisture at a cut end has somewhere to go if the jacket is loose.

A talcum coating between the inner wires and the jacket simplifies stripping during installation. The flat profile keeps the pair close against panels and bulkheads, and Type III finely stranded tinned copper gives flexibility and corrosion resistance. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • The ABYC safety-coded 8 gauge duplex
  • At this gauge identification is a safety question
  • Black appears on the AC side too
  • Extruded jacket leaves moisture nowhere to travel
