Description

The Ocean Signal SafeSea S100 is a purpose-built radar transponder for search and rescue, compliant with IMO SOLAS regulations.

It's built for rescuing and recovering life rafts and survival craft. Switched on, the SART sits in standby until an X-band radar sweep from a nearby vessel triggers it automatically, at which point it sends out a series of pulses that show up on that vessel's radar as a line of dots, giving them a bearing straight to the survival craft.

Activation controls match those on the SafeSea E100 EPIRB, making it easier for an unskilled operator to use correctly under pressure.

Carriage requirements: IMO SOLAS vessels on international voyages need one SART for 300-500 GRT, two above 500 GRT, and one per four life rafts on ro-ro passenger vessels. Many nationally mandated vessels (fishing, passenger, commercial workboats) and most super/mega yachts under MCA code of practice require one too, and voluntary-fit vessels benefit from carrying one as well.

5-year battery replacement interval, includes telescopic pole and storage bracket.

Take a look through our EPIRBs, PLBs & distress signals. Explore more boating.

  • Strong battery life, even down to -20°C
  • User-replaceable, non-hazardous battery
  • 5-Year replacement interval
  • Compact size fits easily in a life raft pack
  • Comes ready to deploy, with a telescopic pole and its own storage bracket
