Meeting IMO SOLAS requirements and serving as a replacement for legacy radar SARTs, the SmartFind S5A is packed inside a quick release carry off bag that allows a survival craft's location to be identified by rescue authorities and nearby AIS equipped vessels.
Once activated, the SmartFind S5A transmits survivor information continuously for a minimum of 96 hours, including structured alert messages, GPS position information, and a serialised identity number. The built-in high precision GNSS receiver provides accurate position information to assist in the detection of the survival craft's location.
