Description

The McMurdo SmartFind S5A AIS SART is a manual deployment survival craft AIS Search and Rescue Transmitter designed for use on life rafts and survival craft. Meeting IMO SOLAS requirements and serving as a replacement for legacy radar SARTs, the SmartFind S5A is packed inside a quick release carry off bag that allows a survival craft's location to be identified by rescue authorities and nearby AIS equipped vessels.

Once activated, the SmartFind S5A transmits survivor information continuously for a minimum of 96 hours, including structured alert messages, GPS position information, and a serialised identity number. The built-in high precision GNSS receiver provides accurate position information to assist in the detection of the survival craft's location. Whether wall mounted on the ship's bridge or packed inside a survival craft, the highly visible buoyant carry case provides maximum protection alongside other survival gear.

Key Features: IMO SOLAS approved, AIS SART for life rafts and survival craft, minimum 96 hour operational battery life, 6 year battery life, built-in high precision GNSS receiver, transmits GPS coordinates, waterproof to 10M, buoyant and floats, visual indication of operation, built-in test facility, internal and external mounting options, interoperable with AIS users, and includes telescopic mounting pole and protective carry off bag.
