Description

The Mustang Survival Ice Commander is a modular rescue suit with sealed hood, gloves and boots and a snap-in buoyancy liner.

This is a rescue suit rather than an abandon-ship suit, and the distinction changes what the suit has to do. An immersion suit keeps a survivor alive until help arrives. A rescue suit keeps the rescuer working: mobile, dexterous and thinking clearly while in the water doing a job.

The snap-in buoyancy liner handles flotation and insulation together, and being removable means the suit can be configured for the conditions. That matters for a crew that trains in one water temperature and works in another.

Sealed hood, gloves and boots built into the suit keep every seal waterproof rather than relying on separate items and their overlaps. Ice rescue is where that matters most, and this is the suit SAR crews, fire departments and dedicated ice rescue units use. Explore more immersion suits and flotation apparel.

  • A rescue suit, not an abandon-ship suit
  • It keeps the rescuer working, not just alive
  • Snap-in liner handles flotation and insulation
  • Hood, gloves and boots sealed into the suit
