Description

The Mastervolt Battery Mate 2503 IG Isolator distributes 200A of charging across three banks using electronic MOSFET switching, DIN rail mounted.

MOSFET switching rather than diodes is the whole argument for this over a conventional isolator. A diode isolator drops around 0.7 volts, and on a 14.4 volt charging system that shortfall means the banks never reach full charge. The MOSFET design loses a fraction of that.

Two hundred amps is the larger of the two Battery Mate ratings, sized for a high-output alternator feeding three banks. Matching the isolator to the alternator matters, since the isolator becomes the limit if it is undersized.

An additional IG connection supports alternators requiring external excitation or voltage sensing, which is what makes it work in retrofit installations. Electronic compensation maintains correct charging voltage as current and battery condition change, and DIN rail mounting suits a tidy panel installation. Explore more battery charging accessories.

  • MOSFET switching instead of diodes
  • A diode isolator drops 0.7 volts and banks never fill
  • 200A, for a high-output alternator across three banks
  • IG connection handles externally excited alternators
