The Marbles 405 First Mate is a traditional nautical folding knife built specifically for rope work and marine use. The satin finish stainless sheepsfoot blade is the standard choice for sailors and riggers because the straight edge and blunt tip let you cut line cleanly and safely in close quarters without the risk of an accidental puncture to a sail, inflatable, or your own hand during the controlled slicing motion that rope work requires. The sheepsfoot has been the sailor's blade for centuries and for good reason.
The folding marlin spike is the second tool that makes this a genuine nautical knife rather than just a pocket knife with a maritime theme.
