Description

The MAM Sportive has a 3.25-inch stainless clip point blade with a beechwood handle and a liner lock. Made in Portugal.

MAM has worked in Portugal since 1870, and the Sportive is their liner lock pattern rather than the traditional friction folders the country is better known for. Beechwood is a pale, close-grained hardwood traditional to Portuguese and Spanish knives, light and easy to shape, and it takes a finish that warms with handling. The clip point drops the tip below the spine line for control while leaving a long belly for general cutting, and a liner lock adds security a traditional slip joint cannot offer.

Stainless suits a knife likely to meet food, damp and outdoor use in the same week, resisting the staining a carbon blade picks up without regular drying. Explore more Gentleman Linerlocks.
