The Magpul MOE SL Hand Guard in black is the mid-length version of Magpul's slim-line drop-in handguard. It is narrower than the original MOE handguard, which makes it easier to wrap your hand around. It replaces the factory two-piece handguard on mid-length AR-15s. At about 1.8 inches wide, it is a third slimmer than the standard MOE handguard.
Installation uses the factory round retaining cap and delta ring, with no barrel nut work. A riveted aluminum heat shield keeps the polymer from getting too hot. M-LOK slots take lights and other accessories. A front lip and side extensions protect your hand from the hot front sight.
Match the length to your rifle's gas system before ordering. Black matches most AR uppers. It needs a front sight assembly with a round retaining cap. Remove any sling swivel on the front sight before installing. The carbine-length version is in our gun parts and accessories.
