Magpul MBUS Gen 2 Black Picatinny Front Sight

The Magpul MBUS Gen 2 Front Sight in black is a spring-loaded polymer flip-up front sight that has been one of the most common backup sights on AR-15s for years. It uses a standard A2 front sight post, which is shielded by protective wings. Elevation is set with the adjustment tool that comes in the package.

Each elevation click moves about 1.6 MOA with a 14.5-inch sight radius and about 1.2 MOA with a 20-inch radius. The sight can be raised from either side or by pressing the top, and a detent holds it upright. If it takes a hit, the spring lets it fold instead of breaking. The folding design keeps it under most optics until you need it.

It weighs about 1.2 ounces and stands about 0.51 inch above the rail when folded. It matches the height over bore of standard A2 irons, so it co-witnesses with most optics. Black blends with most rails and handguards. Its spring holds it out of the sight picture until you flip it up. Pair it with the Gen 2 rear from our optics and rangefinders.
