Description

The Lewmar Pro-Sport 550G is a 12V horizontal windlass kit designed as an economical rope-and-chain anchoring system for boats up to 28 ft. It uses a high-efficiency spur gearbox and compact permanent-magnet motor to provide powered operation with relatively low current draw. A rugged aluminum center case and composite side covers protect the working components in an above-deck installation.

The 150W motor is rated for a maximum pull of 550 lb and a maximum working load of 137 lb. The gypsy handles 1/4 in G4 or BBB chain and 1/2 in three-strand or 8-plait rope. Dual-direction powered operation provides controlled retrieval and deployment, while manual freefall allows the anchor to drop without running the motor.
