The Lee's 30-Degree SS Swivel Base Rod Holder, 14.5-Inch uses a 30° swivel-base rod-holder configuration with a 2.25 in OD x 14.5 in tube. The extra-long tube is 4 in longer than the standard version, allowing a bent butt to sit deeper and reducing leverage on the mounting surface. The swivel base allows the rod butt to rotate in the holder when side pressure is applied at the rod tip, a design intended primarily for bent-butt tackle.

As the swivel turns, the rod tip can follow the direction of the load instead of remaining fixed against a rigid pin. The holder can also function with straight-butt rods, which can be rotated manually to keep the line aligned with the roller tip.
