The Lee's 15-Degree SS Swivel Base Rod Holder, XL Tube uses a 15° swivel-base rod-holder configuration with a 2.25 in OD x 14.5 in tube. The 14.5 in extra-long tube gives bent-butt tackle additional insertion depth compared with the standard-length holder. The swivel base allows the rod butt to rotate in the holder when side pressure is applied at the rod tip, a design intended primarily for bent-butt tackle.

As the swivel turns, the rod tip can follow the direction of the load instead of remaining fixed against a rigid pin. The holder can also function with straight-butt rods, which can be rotated manually to keep the line aligned with the roller tip.
