Klaken J397 Black Aluminum Carbon Utility Folding Knife

The Klaken J397 Black Aluminum Carbon Utility Folding Knife is a work knife with a very short blade, built for control rather than reach. The short edge cuts tape, film, banding and cardboard while staying well clear of whatever sits underneath. At about 2.1 oz (60 g), it is light enough to carry all day in an apron or work pants pocket.

The high-carbon blade takes a keen edge and comes back quickly on a stone, which helps on a knife that dulls fast against abrasive cardboard and packaging. High-carbon steel can rust or darken if it is left wet, so wipe it dry after use and add a drop of oil now and then. A gray patina that forms over time is normal and actually helps protect the steel.

The sturdy handle gives you more to hold onto than the tiny blade suggests, so you can bear down on tough banding with a full grip.
