The Klaken J397 has a 1.65-inch carbon steel blade with a black aluminum handle and a liner lock.

At 1.65 inches this is a very short blade, and that is the design rather than a compromise. Utility cutting means cardboard, tape, banding and film, none of which need depth, and a short edge is far easier to keep out of the material underneath. Carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless and resharpens with less effort, useful on a knife whose edge gets destroyed by abrasive packaging rather than by hard use.
