HydroGlow HG500G 42W Green LED Fishing Light

The HydroGlow HG500G is a 24 inch submersible green LED fishing light rod drawing 3.5A at 42W on 12V, producing 4,000 lumens.

Rod length is chosen by depth and target rather than by budget. Two feet at 42 watts suits freshwater and saltwater work at moderate depth, sitting between the 1 foot ice fishing light and the 4 foot deep water version. For speckled trout, redfish, crappie or shrimping in shallow water a shorter rod is enough. Striped bass, walleye or deep ocean work calls for the longer one.

The rod throws a full 360 degree pattern underwater rather than lighting one direction, which is what draws bait in from all sides rather than along a beam. Green penetrates stained and freshwater conditions further than blue, and the bait comes to the light while the predators follow the bait.
