GROCO BS-1 1.9-Inch x 5.2-Inch Stainless Strainer Basket

The GROCO BS-1 replacement strainer basket restores the removable filtering element inside a compatible marine strainer. The basket is made from 304 stainless steel, giving it the corrosion resistance needed for repeated wet service and cleaning. The BS-1 is sold as a replacement basket within GROCO's service-parts range, so the dimensions should be matched to the basket being removed before ordering. It is a sensible service part when the original basket is damaged, heavily worn, or no longer cleans up well enough for dependable reuse.

The BS-1 uses an improved handle design so the basket is easier to lift out when the strainer is opened for maintenance. Routine removal also gives the owner a chance to inspect the basket for distortion, damaged screening, or a handle that is beginning to loosen. Its open filtering surface is intended to collect debris while allowing water to continue through the strainer housing. Keeping a clean spare BS-1 on hand can shorten service time because the dirty basket can be swapped out and cleaned away from the installed strainer.

• Made for repeated removal and cleaning

Before fitting the BS-1, isolate the intake and clean the inside of the strainer so old debris is not trapped beneath the replacement basket. Set the basket fully into its intended position and confirm the cap or cover closes without forcing the handle or filter body. After the system is reopened, check normal water flow and inspect the strainer for leakage before leaving the compartment unattended.
