Description

The GROCO SSC-750 engine flush kit adds a quick service connection to a compatible seacock so the engine's raw-water circuit can be used for flushing, winterization, or emergency bilge pumping. A quarter-turn quick-release plug provides access without requiring the intake plumbing to be dismantled each time the system is serviced. For winterization, the included service adapter lets antifreeze be drawn into the cooling circuit after the seacock is closed. For routine flushing, the same connection can introduce dockside water while the engine is operated at idle according to the manufacturer's procedure.

The SSC-750 also creates an emergency option when excess bilge water needs to be moved overboard using the engine's raw-water pump. With the engine running, the seacock can be closed and the quick-release plug removed so the pump draws from the bilge instead of the normal thru-hull intake. The kit includes the bronze service adapter needed for the flushing and winterization connection, keeping the service hardware matched to the installed system. GROCO notes that a BSA bilge-strainer adapter can extend this capability to remote bilge locations.

  • Quick-release access for cooling-system service
  • Supports winterization with the included service adapter
  • Can support emergency bilge pumping with the proper setup
  • Allows dockside-water flushing at idle
  • Works with GROCO BSA components for remote bilge pickup

Install the SSC-750 where the quick-release connection can be reached without leaning across hot or moving engine components. Before using any emergency-pumping or flushing mode, verify the seacock position and water source so the raw-water pump is never allowed to run dry. After service, return the system to its normal intake configuration and inspect the plug and surrounding connections for leakage.
