Description

The First Watch First Responder Water Helmet is a CE EN 1385 rescue helmet in red, sized Large/XL, with a high-impact ABS shell.

Red is the traditional rescue and fire service color, and on the water it identifies the wearer as a responder rather than a casualty. In a multi-agency incident that distinction is worth having, since a helmet is often the only part of a person visible above moving water.

Against black it is considerably easier to track visually from a bank or a boat, which matters when a swimmer is working in current. The high-impact ABS shell and closed-cell EVA-molded foam liner handle impact without the liner absorbing water and staying heavy.

A ratchet easy-fit system with a webbed chin cup locks the helmet in place, which is what stops it being pulled off by moving water. Nine vents keep airflow moving and let water drain, and accessory side rails with an NVG or GoPro bracket take a light or camera. Explore more marine rescue gear.

  • Red identifies a responder rather than a casualty
  • Easier to track from a bank or boat than black
  • Chin cup stops the helmet being pulled off in current
  • CE EN 1385 with side rails and camera mounting
