First Watch Large/XL Black Water Rescue Helmet

The First Watch First Responder Water Helmet is a CE EN 1385 rescue helmet in black, sized Large/XL, with a high-impact ABS shell and nine ventilation vents.

CE EN 1385 is the standard for water sports and rescue helmets specifically, and it is not the same as a climbing or cycling standard. A water rescue helmet has to drain rather than hold water, and it has to stay on through impact in moving current, which is what the standard tests for.

Nine vents keep airflow moving, which matters as much for draining water out of the helmet as for cooling the head. A closed-cell EVA-molded foam liner handles impact without absorbing water, where an open-cell foam would waterlog and stay heavy for the rest of a shift.
