First Watch AV-1000 M/L Black Kayak Duty PFD

The First Watch AV-1000 is a kayak-style USCG Type III duty PFD in black, sized M/L, with MOLLE webbing and a body cam patch.

Kayak-style cut is what makes this work for duty use. The flotation sits away from the shoulders and upper chest, leaving the arms free to climb, paddle or draw a sidearm. A conventional vest restricts exactly those movements, so duty crews take them off and then have no flotation at all.

Roll-up Velcro tabs on the straps exist to eliminate snag hazards, which matters more than comfort on someone working around lines, rails and equipment. A D-ring at the base zipper takes a throttle lanyard, and an accessory lash tab with MOLLE webbing holds a phone or other gear.
