Description

The Davis AeroCone Rain Collector comes with a Vantage Pro2 mounting base and a 40 foot cable, using a self-emptying tipping bucket.

This version replaces the rain collector built into a Vantage Pro2 sensor suite so the collector can be sited separately from the other sensors. That matters because the best place for an anemometer is high and exposed, and the best place for a rain gauge is clear of overhang at a standard height. Those are rarely the same spot.

A tipping bucket empties itself, so the collector needs no attention through a season rather than being drained manually. Forty feet of cable is what allows the separation, and it arrives with the base and cable rather than needing parts sourced separately. Explore more outdoor optics and navigation.

  • Lets the rain gauge be sited away from the sensor suite
  • Wind and rain need different mounting positions
  • Self-emptying tipping bucket needs no draining
  • Includes a Pro2 base and 40 feet of cable

Specifications

Cable Length:
40 ft (12m)
Design:
Self-Emptying Tipping Bucket
Includes:
AeroCone, Base with Tipping Mechanism, Bird Spikes, Debris Screen, Mounting Hardware

Meets World Meteorological Organization Guidelines
