Description
The Condor Terrachete has a 14.63-inch 1075HC steel blade in Condor Classic finish, a full tang, an army green polypropylene handle and a matching sheath. Made in El Salvador.
The Condor Classic finish is a deliberately uneven gray scale left on the blade rather than polished away. It is not decorative: the oxide layer slows rust on carbon steel, the reason traditional forged blades were left this way. 1075HC has about three quarters of a percent carbon, hard enough to hold a working edge but soft enough to bend rather than chip when it meets a hidden knot, and it comes back with a file.
At 14.63 inches the Terrachete sits in the useful middle of the machete range, long enough for real clearing but still controllable for camp tasks. Explore more Machetes.
