The Civivi Baby Banter 2 has a 2.38-inch stonewashed Nitro-V steel drop point blade, a green canvas micarta handle, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 3.25 inches on a crossbar lock.

Nitro-V is an American stainless made by adding nitrogen to 14C28N during melting, and the nitrogen forms hard nitrides that raise both edge retention and corrosion resistance above the steel it started from. That is a lot of steel for a knife that closes to 3.25 inches, and it is the reason to look at the Baby Banter over cheaper compact folders.

A crossbar lock is a spring-loaded bar released from either side, so the knife works the same in either hand and closes without fingers crossing the blade path. Canvas micarta grips harder as hands get damp and wears in to a smoother, darker surface over years. Explore more Folding Knives.
