The Civivi Baby Banter has Cuibourtia wood, sometimes sold as African rosewood, with deep reddish grain no synthetic matches. A 2.25-inch Nitro-V wharncliffe blade in black stonewash closes to 3.13 inches, with a thumb stud, lanyard hole, pocket clip and zippered case.

A wharncliffe runs the spine straight to a point that meets a dead-straight edge, so the whole edge stays in contact with the material and the tip is where you put it. It excels at controlled detail cuts. Nitro-V is an American stainless made by adding nitrogen to 14C28N, forming hard nitrides that raise both edge retention and corrosion resistance.
