Description

The C.E. Smith Bunk Board Guide-On is a 5 foot carpeted board on 1.5 inch pre-galvanized uprights, angled out at 75 degrees.

Board guide-ons work differently from post guide-ons. A post marks where the trailer is, and a board actually contacts the hull and pushes it toward center as the boat comes on. That is what makes them the answer in wind or a side current, where a boat crabs across the trailer instead of tracking straight.

The 75 degree angle is what does the centering. Vertical boards would simply stop a boat, and angling them out turns sideways drift into a correction. Carpet over the board protects the hull finish, and pre-galvanized uprights are coated before fabrication rather than after. Explore more trailer guides and bunks.

  • Boards contact the hull and push it to center
  • For loading in wind or a side current
  • 75 degree angle turns drift into correction
  • 5 foot carpeted boards on galvanized uprights
