C.E. Smith 15° Stainless Steel Cast Rod Holder

The C.E. Smith 15° Stainless Steel Cast Rod Holder is a 15 degree, 80 Series flush mount rod holder in 316 stainless steel. Its tube is 10-1/2 inches deep with a 1-7/8 inch inside diameter. A 15 degree angle tips the rod out slightly from vertical, a good middle ground for trolling while keeping rods close to the boat. 316 stainless steel is the marine grade that resists rust and pitting in saltwater far better than 304.

The rounded cast bottom has a 1/2 inch pipe-threaded drain, so you can run a drain tube or leave it finished where the underside shows. A tough stainless gimbal bar holds up to downriggers and heavy tackle. A keyed black vinyl liner protects the rod's finish and stays in place against the gimbal. A flush mount sits low on the gunwale, so it doesn't snag lines or clothing when the holder is empty. The 15 degree mounting angle is specific to this configuration and should be chosen to suit the gunwale and the way the rod will be fished.

It fits a 2-9/16 inch hole and installs without screws through the cap, using the included backing plate and installation nut with C.E. Smith's #53679 installation socket.
