The Barton Marine Black Up to 16 ft Dinghy Boomstrut supports the boom while working alongside the boat's existing kicker or rope vang. It is matched to a defined boat-size and boom-weight range for proper support. Its flexible spring action lifts the boom as vang tension is released, helping maintain sail shape in light air and keeping the boom supported when the sail comes down. Because it mounts independently of the existing kicking strap tackle, it can be added without replacing the boat's current vang hardware.

Patented flexing spring provides fast response and a constant force for vang efficiency. The boomstrut’s lightweight, low-profile design features two flexible coated fiberglass rods which provide the force to support the boom. Pulling the boom down with a conventional kicker causes the Boomstrut to flex; releasing straightens the rods, thereby lifting and supporting the boom. Eliminates friction and sliding parts.
